If you’ve ever doubted whether Harley-Davidson could truly compete in the adventure motorcycle world, you’re not alone. I used to be one of the biggest critics. With bikes like the BMW R1250GS Adventure, Yamaha Ténéré 700, Honda Africa Twin, and Suzuki V-Strom dominating the ADV space, it’s easy to question Harley stepping in.

But after riding the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special, my opinion completely changed.

In this video, I take my Pan America Special—aka the “Dirt Glide”—on a ride to March Moto Madness in Tellico Plains. We’ll hit the scenic twisty roads of East Tennessee, check out a beautiful waterfall, do some light off-road riding, and go over the latest upgrades I’ve made to the bike.

Harley-Davidson may be the underdog in the ADV world, but this bike proves they are a serious contender.
