Another day on India’s roads — and once again, they showed no mercy.
Riding from Mahad to Lonavala, this turned into a brutally punishing journey, with relentless roads forcing us to stop again and again just to stretch, breathe, and recover. This wasn’t about the bike failing — it was about the sheer physical reality of riding long distances on rural Indian roads.
Early on, we pull into a small roadside settlement and meet some truly lovely people. We stop, take photographs, share a few moments, and quietly give each person ₹500 — a small gesture that leads to big smiles and genuine warmth.
Back on the road, the punishment continues until a chance stop in town brings unexpected kindness. A bicycle salesman insists on buying us cold juice from a vendor across the road — one of those simple moments that reminds you what travelling is really about.
We wander, photograph local life, and watch ladies selling fish straight from the ground before riding on again… only to spot something surreal: a camel by the roadside. The Ol’ Man takes hold of the lead rope and delivers a line that still makes us laugh.
We eventually reach our hotel, grab some rest, and later explore the town on foot — spotting a beautiful classic Yamaha and stumbling into Hindu wedding preparations, where we’re warmly invited inside.
