This day pushed us right to the edge.
What started as a simple ride through rural Maharashtra quickly spiralled into one of the most chaotic and physically demanding days of our entire India journey.
We battled brutal roads, extreme heat, and relentless discomfort from the bike. The Ol’ Man’s cough worsened, forcing an emergency stop at a rural pharmacy — only for things to escalate even further when he cut his head open on a jagged roof during lunch.
Over a much-needed masala chai, we have an honest conversation about the Royal Enfield Bear’s unforgiving suspension and the realities of riding long distances in India.
And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any more absurd, exhaustion, heat, and badly chosen riding gear led to a roadside breakdown — trousers off, bull nearby, dignity gone.
This is the unfiltered reality of motorcycle travel in India: unpredictable, exhausting, hilarious, and humbling — with the looming threat that tonight’s hotel might not even exist.
